Mike has been practicing law with Wood, Ris & Hames since 1964 and currently holds the position Of Counsel, after having served the firm as President and Senior Shareholder. Mike has a general civil practice specializing in insurance defense matters, including defense of insured persons on all manner of claims with a current emphasis on professional liability claims, public entity problems, and products liability. His practice includes construction claims, interpretation of insurance policies, and defense of first party claims, including claims for bad faith and declaratory judgment actions. Mike has participated in hundreds of jury trials during his more than 30 years of law practice. He has argued cases before all Colorado courts, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado and the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
