Clay joined Wood, Ris & Hames in 1973 and serves as Special Counsel to the firm. Clay has a general civil practice specializing in insurance matters, first-party and third-party, including construction and interpretation of insurance policies, bad faith claims and avoidance and declaratory judgment actions, with a current emphasis on environmental pollution and construction defects coverage. He has extensive experience defending insured persons in all manner of claims, including personal lines, general business, and professional liability. He has argued cases before all Colorado courts, trial and appellate, and the United States District Court for the District of Colorado.
